Archive for September, 2012

I’m about to publish my 300th post on my Hansi blog.  But before the festivities begin, I though I’d first post this commemorative drawing here on the Blithering Idiot.  Sorta like a preview or movie ‘trailer’ to generate some excitement and eager anticipation for the real thing.

I know….It’s all a bunch of bullshit, and just an excuse to draw something and ramble on about my accomplishments.  And here’s a little secret:  My 300th Hansi post will actually be my 301st or 302nd, because I usual do this blogging thing in bursts (Kinda like a bad case of flatulence) and save them as drafts, to be posted when and how I see fit.

So…there you have it, and there it is 🙂

Forcepts Boy

Posted: September 22, 2012 in Foolishness

I did a post on my Hansi blog a while ago, about Forceps Boy.  A youth who was pulled from the womb prematurely, and went on to have super powers.  Can’t remember what I wrote, let alone the super powers he may have had at the time.  But it must have something to do with a higher form of intelligence due to an elongated cranial capacity.

I don’t know if you can remember your birth.  I’ve totally forgotten mine ( I wasn’t pulled out by forceps, I think).  But I sure wish I was back in the womb at times.  Warm and comfortable, being feed all the time, and nothing to worry about; unless Mom ate some really gross stuff that I didn’t like.  Still don’t care for onions to this day.

Still can’t think of any super powers.  Can you?

Phucking Around In Photoshop

Posted: September 18, 2012 in Foolishness

Although I Photoshop everything I put on my blogs.  I really haven’t gotten into it as an art-form or drawing tool.  I pretty much stick to the basics in order to make my drawings look as best they can.  Psychedelic drugs also help my work look good, but that would have to be on your part.

Being inspired by some of my fellow art-blog buddies (you know who you are), I thought I’d start playing with Photoshop and see what happens.

Sure did wonders for my garden.

An Ice-cream Cone

Posted: September 15, 2012 in Foolishness

The grand-kids were over for dinner last night, along with their Mom; aka my daughter.  Well after dinner, The Wife (aka Grandma) took them to the local Rite-Aid drugstore to get ice-cream cones.  Well needless to say, they came home ecstatic; probably had a pretty good sugar high going.

This got me to thinkin’: sometimes nothing hits the spot like a good ice-cream cone.  Especially if it’s ‘mint n chip’, or something over-loaded with chocolate.  Well, I was overloaded on white wine, and didn’t feel like having one.  But if I did, I know I’d too, be jumping for joy.

Feeling Good

Posted: September 12, 2012 in Foolishness

Here’s one I “touched up” in PhotoShop.  The truer version will be featured on a Hansi post, coming soon.

If there is one thing I like, it’s feeling good.  And the only thing better than feeling good, is feeling even better.  I’m not talking so much about intoxication, although that can make ya feel good, even really good, for a while.  Then there’s the downside.  Too bad for every up-side, there’s a down-side.  Maybe it’s a karmic punishment.

For me, feeling good comes from physical exercise, and, mental exercise.  Eating right, vigorous exercise, sleeping well (including mid-day naps) and little to no alcohol use does a lot in this department.  The mental exercise is more difficult.  For me, this consists mainly of “mindfulness training”, wherein, I’m aware, from a non-judgmental viewpoint, of what’s going on around me and what my gut reactions are in the present moment.  The good feeling comes from not being swayed by emotions and fears, and having a positive sense of everything being Okay.  Maybe not as desirable as ya may like it to be, but still Okay; and not the determiner of why I am or am not happy.

Sure hope you’re feeling good.

Here’s another one.
