Botticelli in my Brain

Posted: November 26, 2011 in Foolishness

Being in constant need of new images to draw, I got out an old art book on Sandro Botticelli.  The female figure in Renaissance art was treated totally  different than what is being glorified today.  Probably, one of his most famous paintings is “The Birth Of Venus”.  His version is a whole lot more skillful than mine.  But then again, he probably spend more than ten minutes cranking out his masterpiece.

I was so inspired that I continued the series with my version of “Venus on the Half-shell”.
