Money

Money talks and money screams

Buys you a car, fulfills you dreams

Pays the doctor, pays the bills

Money’ll buy you all your thrills.

Picks you up when you get low,

Every-bodies happy when they got some dough.

Money kills and money makes wars

Gets you in places, opens the doors.

There ain’t nothing it can’t do.

Oh yeah money, we all love you.

Money is fat, money is thin

The love of money will make you sin.

Money can do anything you want it to do

Money’s green, red white and blue.

You can lose your money if you act too rash,

Every-bodies happy when they got some cash.

Money buys power, money buys might

Money’ll do wrong, and money can do right.

There ain’t nothing it can’t do

Oh yeah money, we all love you.

  1. I enjoyed your money verse. 🙂

I thought those were lyrics. That one ranks right up there with all the classic R&R songs about money. Same vain as Pink Ployd’s “Money”.

    • Hey you idiot. Does it have to take ya two tries to get Pink Floyd correct? My version of Money, lies somewhere between Floyd and Barret Strong’s R&B (original) version in 1960. Strong’s song was more desperate in nature, “They say the best things in life are free, But you can give them to the birds and the bees. I need money!” or how about: “Your love give me such a thrill, But your love don’t pay my bills. I need money!”. And you can’t forget, “Money don’t get everything, that’s true. But what it can get I can use. I need money!”. Everybody did a version of that one, from the Kingsmen to the Beatles.
And….It was an early Barry Gordy production; you know the founder of Motown.
